  1. they used to roam that area of Arizona. My father’s boss, John Nutt from Eloy was hunting for one from the Sonora side of the border but shot it just on the Arizona side. But the DNR found out about the illegal kill so the lovely hide was hidden in my bedroom closet for several years. No one got caught, but a beautiful animal. I lived in Casa Grande at that time, back in the 1950s.

    During their hunt with a Mexican hunting guide, they ran into some wild longhorn cattle who treed all of the hunting group and was ramming John’s tree unfortunately. Eventually the bull got bored and moved on.
