Barbed Wire Removal in the Avra Valley

Volunteers led by the Friends of Buenos Aires NWR have removed over 300 miles of barbed wire fencing on the refuge. This is an important effort to open the range for the unimpeded movement of wildlife, particularly our Pronghorn and deer.

KOLD news reported that volunteer groups, along with Federal and State agencies, have begun a similar effort in the Avra Valley which is north of the refuge.
