Join the Friends of the Buenos Aires National Wildlife Refuge for a presentation on
venomous creatures of the Sonoran Desert. Wildlife biologist and award-winning
photographer Mike Cardwell will teach us how to identify dangerously venomous
reptiles and arthropods in our area, how to avoid being bitten and stung by them, and
how to apply the appropriate first aid if needed. He will also talk about some of the
other desert inhabitants that most people mistakenly think are dangerous. The
program will consist of an illustrated lecture, along with some live animals on display.
